Organizations are facing increasing competitive pressure and have their operational performance in the face of constant changes in economic conditions and technological improvements to be successful. Many technologies have been used for the next few years the production efficiency, quality and throughput in manufacturing and other distributed systems. Machine control, process control systems and building automation systems have been used extensively in recent decades, much of it since the year 1990, based on computer-controlled systems based on patented technologies optimized for the subsystem.

The business system level, we have seen widespread adoption of software for financial and transactional aspects of business. providing customer relationship management to business chain management to improve quality, software systems are used everywhere.

But if we find in these systems we see in many cases, they remain separated from each other, many with their own communication protocols make it difficult to coordinate. Since the company to the next level of business performance are looking, they try to increase their operational efficiency and improve coordination with business objectives. (more…)

In both storage and assembly industry, the process of choosing one of the most labor-intensive functions. In fact, it may take up to 50% of the workforce to change budget. For this reason, companies are constantly looking for ways to make this process to increase productivity and increasing customer expectations to maximize improvement. There are three important factors involved when you pick to improve. The first is the productivity or “pick-rate, half the time it takes to get an order from order entry to shipping dock, also called the” cycle time “, and finally the accuracy of the picks.

Several systems are available to all these factors to improve. However, most of these systems technologies such as barcodes and RFID tags or offer voice recognition technology which is often too large for smaller halls and assemblies. These systems are generally used only for large warehouses, including maintenance of complex supply chain traceability. Therefore, for smaller rooms, requires alternative solutions.

A cost-effective system for smaller rooms and meetings (which not only increases accuracy but also productivity) is a pick-by-light solution (PBL). A PBL-system consists of lights and LED displays for each pick location. Software is used to light each element is included and will be required to collect the amount shown. After picking the item, the user presses the lit button indicates that the item was selected. The system will highlight any subsequent items included, until the entire order is filled. development to find the optimal solution PBL, this is the kind of system SSI Schaefer decided.

In general, most PBL systems directly accessible from the warehouse database server. Therefore, the implementation of decentralized GUIs more the responsibility of the ERP system providers.

From PAR A member started this discussion by noting that the wireless means that for them a good vary of technologies, as well as 802.11 a, g, n, that firms as an extension of the Ethernet-help (eg, wireless peripherals like barcode scanners, and notebooks) . Then there’s wireless sensor networks, a wireless 802.15.4 instruments like ZigBee, wireless heart-and ISA-100. RFID could be a wireless technology that’s not expected to possess nearly the maximum amount as folks had caught. customary and good phones are employed in systems for communication. However, users of the chance that info, have confidence wireless, as a result of they’re not as strong by nature, and there’ll be communication failure. There are variety of topologies to create mesh technology, however most are tough to keep up and manage as a result of it are often confusing. If you’ve got a mesh network should be a reasonably smart sized put in base.

An important application was the addition of wireless knowledge devices, the manual had to buy within the past to be registered. they’re sent wirelessly to a tool with a camera, the views and track the info. Another necessary application is temporary facilities for diagnosis, again and again with strap-on sensors.

Mobile devices are still in use, like pill PCs and iPads. we tend to started with IP67 handheld devices with bar code readers see calibration with a wireless association to the calibration database and wireless interfaces for electronic batch records (S88). In some cases they need roving industrial operators to use the laptops. (more…)
