RFID technology is changing the way people identify when they handed over the watch at least one nuclear plant, where the system integrator iQuest (www.iquestcorp.com), Alpharetta, Georgia, a safer, more reliable system to be implemented. Instead of collecting the guard to each car and to check ID’s (it put, and the system is in danger), everyone has the markings of an RFID tag, the tags anywhere in your car and allows read nonetheless an RFID reader in the Guard .

Although access to the machine in a factory may not be as bleak as the access to a nuclear power plant, it is increasingly important as manufacturers opportunities to find cost-effective and competitive by looking at the quality control. Siemens RFID technology and the iQuest service can be used in the same way, iQuest by Bob Mead, President and Senior Software Engineer. “You could use this technology practically anywhere you want to do access control,” he says, noting that information can badge with any database, access to integrated parts of a plant or certain parts of a machine. RFID is a flow of interest to many people is implemented to develop in many areas such as system traceable (Backward Traceability) Control Warehouse automatic application of the transport (Logistics), but because RFID is the user actually placement. To direct a lot. But who knows less. Let’s fine understanding of these facts.

RFID system

1) RFID is a device that is used for read-only?

RFID can read data stored on the memory card (tags) and can write more. Edit the tag information as well.
2) RFID tag reader with multiple tag does not?

RFID can be read continuously. Make it look like to read multiple tags simultaneously. Time to read and write each tag in the main milliseconds to read the tag and the next instant.
3) RFID can not read across a brand?

Ignoring the offline brand. If the same radio frequency. And encoding the same. Of course, such features may be the wrong term, reading etc.
4) RFID is a health hazard due to radio? (more…)

SCADA and OPC and Automation and RFID and PLC and Ethernet Communication and Industrial01 Feb 2011 03:54 am

Hello Omron PLC.com readers
For this year ,i would like to invite the reader comment other trends, or to expand on the following trends share. my short description below is a snapshot of some trends I see in industrial automation.

Synergy Information
Automation teach people how to survive the delivery of IT-based business information system to go with the cooperation and the creation of new ways of cooperation and efficiency.

Retrofit and Upgrade
In the U.S. and Europe are the manufacturers tend to existing systems to get new features and functions add to the preservation of capital. Other new and growing markets are the installation of new systems.

Remote Monitoring
Today, APS systems have the ability, powerful remote monitoring of plant experts help to solve the problems without the need for support for travel. This ability will increase in importance due to a shrinking pool of experienced people and growth in developing countries.

Ethernet
The two dominant species grow Communications for Industrial Automation Systems Standard TCP / IP Ethernet network protocol and a set of industry standards for Ethernet. The TCP / IP Ethernet network, IT has become the workhorse bridge information between automation and business systems. Industrial protocols had converged a few standard protocols for sensor-actuator networks, is the dominant Modbus, DeviceNet and Profibus. The growth of Ethernet communication at the controller level, increasing the number of protocols for the industrial automation as seen Ethernet / IP, PROFINET, SERCOS III and Modbus TCP / IP, Powerlink, IEC 61850, Foundation Fieldbus High Speed Ethernet (HSE) and CC-Link IE, the biggest problem will be how far the architecture of industrial Ethernet protocols for the business systems are accepted.
