Welcome back to PLC Center,om-ron plc dot com as We see the Omron CJ1 specification is shown as follows
Serial Communication
Built-in peripheral port: PG (including Programming Console) connections, Host Link, NT Link, Serial Gateway (CompoWay / F Master)
Built-in RS-232C Interface: PG (without programming Console) connections, Host Links, no-communication protocol, NT Link, Modbus RTU Slave Serial Gateway (CompoWay / F Master or Modbus Master)
Serial Communications (sold separately): Protocol macros, Host Links, NT Links

So,I would like to present in this.

Serial Gateway (CompoWay / F Master or Modbus Master)
This means that if a Modbus slave (or servo drive, etc.) or CompoWay / F Slave (Temp Control, etc.) is connected to a serial port on the CJ1 and CJ2 PLC, then a host CPU, in conjunction access to port and tunnel through the PLC and connect the port directly to the slave. This makes the programming or software parameter is not directly connected to the Modbus or CompoWay / F slave attached. You must log macro trigger the PLC or Modbus CompoWay / F command to give the slaves.

I can built-in serial interface (Host Link Port) serial communications gateway / Modbus RTU?
It depends on CX-Programmer version I use? (more…)

Modbus RTU to Modbus ASCII, but is a different question, or do the same. The difference is clear conclusion.
Different encryption methods by Modbus ASCII is ASCII code format, but that it is the Modbus RTU Bi Na Ry memory size is less data to be sent simultaneously to many Modbus RTU,
So surely that will be sent information. faster when large amounts of data.
The same principle is used for sending data is the same.

modbus data structure

Both Modbus ASCII and Modbus RTU Address, but can identify different ASCII is a direct Hex base with two bytes when using Modbus RTU one byte. (more…)
